Nothing Like a Good Game of Golf

Updated: Oct 28, 2018

i love golfing

I recently visited Colorado for a family reunion in Estes Park. The town there is at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, and what can I say, it's breathtaking. The views come at your from every angle. There are mule deer that pass through the town, and a rambling creek that tucks alongside little cottages on the way to the Rockies. Be sure to check out some of the BBQ joints, and steakhouses while you're in town. I got a fantastic New York Strip Steak with sauteed mushrooms and asparagus that was to die for.

While I was there in Estes Park the family got together to play some golf. We went two different courses, one 9-hole and one 18. The courses there wasn't too difficult at all, but one thing that did make them stand out was the scenery of the course. Playing on a course surrounded by mighty mountains and peppered with lush pine trees and a rolling creek was amazing. Honestly, these courses were some of my favorite that I have ever played on.

I got to practice with my new driver (yes, I traveled with my clubs). While playing, my nephew was having a bit of a struggle with driving. His back swing was too short, and when we tried winding up all the way he got a little gun-shy and wouldn't follow through with a full swing. I decided to help him out by teaching him some golf driving tips and techniques that I thought would help him out. After he let a few practice swings go, he started playing better on the rest of course straight away.

Next time you're in Colorado, plan a trip up to Estes Park for some golf, you won't be disappointing. Plus, you can visit the Coors Brewery on your way up there for an excellent tour of the brewery and some complimentary beers!
